China Financial Daily:China May Grant PBOC Key Role in Financial Oversight

China will hold the fifth National Financial Work Conference on July 14-15 andis considering to give central bank a key role in coordinating financial oversightwith focus on reining financial risks, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiarwith the matter. China may create a new office at PBOC for coordinatingCBRC, CSRC and CIRC led by central bank’s governor. Besides the threeregulators, MOF and NDRC officials may also join this new coordination office.

    Other local news source said a comprehensive asset management frameworkmay be released during the upcoming financial work conference.
