Hang Seng Index declined on Tuesday after the six-day rally. It decreased 36points and closed at 25,336 points. HSCEI closed at 10,434 points, falling 17points. Turnover was $78 billion. The natural gas sector which tumbled onprevious trading days, made some technical rebound, rising 2% to 7% in general.
Moreover, China has signed 68 collaboration agreements with other nationsduring the ‘Belt and Road’ Forum. However, the infrastructure sector fell slightly.
US stock market continued its uptrend on early Tuesday, the Dow once rose 50points. However, Trump had shared sensitive intelligence obtained from a closeU.S. ally with Russia’s foreign minister and ambassador, investors concerned thatTrump might face more political pressure in the near term, and delay its proposedtax reform plan. US stock market narrowed its upside. The Dow fell 2 points (to20,980) while the Nasdaq continued to hit new high, rise 20 points (to 6,170).
Besides, US dollar turned weak, US dollar index once fell to 98.1.
Although Hang Seng Index retreated, southbound trade remained strong. Overallmarket performance and turnover was steady. Looking ahead, Tencent(700) willrelease result on Wednesday, which will be investors focus.
