Hong Kong Stock Market Summary

The Shanghai Composite Index shed to lower than 3,700pts and the Hong Kong stock market performed even worse. The HSI once shed 557pts and reached the year low of 22,610. It closed at 22,757pts and dropped 410pts. The main board turnover was recorded at HK105.1bn.

GALAXY (27) was the worst performer in blue-chips and it shed 6.1% to HK$29.35. SANDS (1928) and MELCO INT’L DEV dropped 3.6% and 7.3% respectively. Oil price continues to fall and reached 6-year-low.PETROCHINA (857) dropped 4% to HK$6.8, CNOOC (883) and SINOPEC CORP (386) was down 3.2% and 2.7% respectively. CGN POWER (1819)’s interim result was announced and the net profit for 6 months increased 36.1% but the share price went down 12.7% to HK3.16.
