Japan will receive the Tertiary Industry Index for June. Meanwhile, UKJuly employment data will arguably be the pick during the Europeansession, especially after last month’s surprisingly increase in the claimantcount. The focus will also be on the labour market during the USsession, with the July JOLTS report scheduled for release. An increasein the quits rate would be viewed by Fed Chair Janet Yellen as indicativeof growing labour market confidence. The Fed will also release itsBeige Book and the Treasury the July budget statement. Dovish Fedvoter Dudley is due to speak on the local economy in Rochester.
Key data today includes China’s July retail sales (consensus: 10.6% y/y;June: 10.6%), industrial production (consensus: 6.6% y/y; June: 6.8%)and fixed asset investment (consensus: 11.5% ytd; June: 11.4% ytd).
