Hong Kong Stock Market Summary

CSRC warned investors to be careful of the stock market risk, dragging down A-shares. Hong Kong stocks fluctuated. The HSI once hit 28,548, and closed at 28,442, up 9 pts. The main board turnover was HK$170.6bn.

CITIC (267) jumped 5.8% to HK$15.72, and became the top gainer of the HSI. Mainland banks advanced. The Big 4 banks climbed by a range of 1.3% to 1.8%. Mainland insurance providers generally declined, but PING AN (2318) rose 1.6% to HK$111.3. Mainland mobile operators ended mixed. CHINA TELECOM (728) fell 1.8% to HK$5.91, as its Q1 net profit dropped 9%. CHINA MOBILE (941) rose 1% and CHINA UNICOM (762) fell 1.1%. Oil shares declined. SINOPEC CORP (386) and PETROCHINA (857) sank 4.8% and 4.7%, and became the top two losers of the HSI.
