Hong Kong Stock Market Summary
Hong Kong stocks slumped with the weak Mainland markets. The HSI opened up and retreated, once dropped 693 pts, and closed at 27,094, down 558 pts. The main board turnover was HK$211bn.
Oil shares fell. KUNLUN ENERGY (135) sank 7.1% to HK$9.01, and became the top loser of the HSI. PETROCHINA (857) and CNOOC (883) fell 6.1% and 3.5% respectively. Mainland financial shares declined. The Big 4 banks slid by a range of 0.5% to 2.6%. PING AN (2318) and CPIC (2601) both fell 4%. CITIC SEC (6030) and HAITONG SEC (6837) both slumped almost 7%. Railway shares fall. CSR (1766) and CNR (6199) plunged by 10.9% and 12.9%. CHINA COMM CONS (1800), CHINA RAILWAY (390) and CHINA RAIL CONS (1186) all slid over 3%.
