The Hong Kong market performed well yesterday. The HSI opened low slightly and rallied, breaking through the 250-day MA and closed at 23,315, up 250 pts. The main board turnover was HK$72.6bn.
Macau Sept’s gaming revenue fell 11.7% YoY to MOP25.56bn, better than the market expectations, leading gains in Macau gaming shares. SANDS CHINA (1928) and GALAXY ENT (27) soared 7.1% and 6.6% respectively, and became the top two gainers of the HSI. SJM (880) rose 5.5% to HK$15.66. Brokerage shares advanced. FIRST SHANGHAI (227) and CASH FIN (510) jumped 7.5% and 5.7%. Mainland mobile operators declined. CHINA MOBILE (941) slid 1% to HK$91.95, the steepest loss among the HSI. CHINA UNICOM (762) and CHINA TELECOM (728) fell 0.5% and 1.7%.
