The speech by U.S. Fed Chair Janet Yellen eased market worries on interest rates hike. Also, China reported better-than-expected manufacturing PMI. The HSI advanced yesterday, closing at 22,448, up 297 pts. The market turnover was HK$69.24bn.

CHINA MERCHANTS HOLDINGS (144) net profit grew 10.3% last year. Yet, the Group proposed an open offer of unlisted mandatory convertible securities, dragging down the share price by 3.9% to HK$25.6, the steepest decline in the HSI. Macau Mar’s gaming revenue grew 13.1%, leading gains in related shares. SANDS CHINA (1928) and GALAXY ENT (27) jumped 9.6% and 7.9% respectively, the top two gainers in the HSI. Technology shares performed well. TENCENT (700) rose 4.4% to HK$563.5. SINOSOFT TECH (1297) and KINGSOFT CORP (3888) soared 7.1% and 5.7% respectively.
